Profiles suggestion

Since we are linked to our websites via the buttons on the left sidebar, what do y'all think of "mailto:" links on the avatars on the Profiles page? Seems to me rather than duplicate the website link again there, the mailing address might be more functional.

Agree? Disagree?

My e-mail address receives enough SPAM. I've gone so far as to obliterate all mailto: links on my sites, and if I could, I'd strike down all the mailto: links to my address on other people's sites.

It's probably too little, too late, but I like taking any preventive measure to stem the proverbial tide of junk e-mail.

How's this: Without making an active link, I could create e-mail aliases (i.e. steve-at-hawaiistories.com) for members, and other members would know just to send a message to username-at-hawaiistories.com.

Sounds fine to me...judging from the lack of comments, maybe there's no real need for us to have easy access to the mail address...I thought of it because I was curious(nosy?) about the result of Lisa's traffic ticket woes, and thought I'd ask via mail.
