HawaiiStories question
I am just wondering but why is it that when I make a new entry here and then people comment to it I also get a copy of those comments via email?

Posted by Helen at August 12, 2002 08:15 PMJust one of the many clever features of the site's content management system, Movable Type!
Thanks for the new post, Helen. :) Future questions like this I'd be happy to answer via e-mail.
But if you don't like it, go into your blog preferences or blog config and uncheck the box which refers to e-mailing comments. I know people who have done that, because their sites are so active the inbox would overflow, or because they liked the surprise of coming back to see the comments.
I've tried looking for a configuration toggle for this feature to turn my e-mail receipt off but found none. Is this an administrator-level thing?
Hmm. I think it is, NemesisVex. For whatever reason, it seems to be on a per-blog basis rather than per-user.
I hope it's not a major inconvenience to anyone. I personally like it. That may change when we start seeing fifty replies to various posts a day, but... that's a way off.
Oops, yup. Ryan's right; it's at admin level. Since I use MT for my own blog I transferred that experience to this one. Sorry.
Thought I'd extend the scope of this thread to be a "tech support" discussion for Hawai´i Stories.
Lately, I noticed Movable Type takes a while to crunch new posts and replies. I think content management systems such as MT reach a point where there's so much content to rebuild, it slows down.
Anyone notice any sluggishness on part of MT?
