Local People Doing Local Things

FILM SCREENING:
Date: May 10, Saturday
Time: 6:30 p.m. (show runs 7-9:30 p.m.)
Cost: $10
Location: Revealed after ticket is purchased.

Always setting out to blaze a trail for film-making in Hawaii, Vertov Industries (the independent film crew I work with) have created yet another film that is sure to become your new fiction favorite.

Filmed entirely location in Hawaii, the envelope-pushing surreal drama showcases the people and places you won't see in that Bruce Willis movie. Spotlighting the unpaid talents of both amateurs and SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) alike, this 90 minute epic will leave you stunned.

The latest feature centers around three auspicious bums who stumble across something that will change their lives forever. The ongoing battle of good vs. not-so-good plays itself out on the big screen as our protaganists are caught in the middle of it all.

If you're interested in attending the special screening of this fantastic filmo before it's entered into competition, don't hesitate to contact me amply before the show at 947-2085 or cheyneg@lava.net.

Again, it's only $10 a ticket :-) and you'll be seeing it with the cast and the crew (which means I'll be there!).

And second bonus feature to follow (if you want to stay)!

Weird.

Actually I've got another question, mainly, how did you get involved in this project. It sounds like fun. Was this an open casting call or did you have to know about the audition through the local actor/actresses grapevine around town?

albert: so you find the location announcement to be weird, but the photo of the two darkly-clad white-faced guys in a dimly-lit alley to be not weird? hmn.

sin: i've been makin' movies with vertov since high school (1998). For our bigger projects, we regularly have open auditions, but this was a special project for just our alumni actors. only one or two new people on the cast.
are you interested?

Yeah, it's been a while since I did any acting (college) but it'd be nice to start up again. Any idea what the next production is going to be about?

Well, how'd it go?

And what are the competitions in which it'll be entered? (You know, just in case one of us ends up on the jury.)

Sin, several ideas are being discussed about the next big project (slated to be in the audition process during the months of August and September of this year). I'll post to this site to let everyone know about it.

Ryan, the premiere went great! The movie received rave reviews from the special invited guests and will now be duplicated to be given to the cast and crew. Our last movie "Modelling Me" will be (hopefully) featured in this year's Adam Baran Gay and Lesbian film festival. I doubt anyone here will be on the judging panel of that, but wish us luck anyhow :)

salud!
Cheyne
