Lisa and I went to see Cat In The Hat last night at Ward Theatre.
MORE...Saw The Haunted Mansion on Wednesday night at the Kukui Grove Cinema.
What's on your mind on this day of everything from deep reflection to shallow pie tins? What are you most thankful for this year? What's on your plate? And perhaps most importantly... do you get Friday off too?
Posted by Prophet Zarquon at 08:47 PMJust saw Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World at the Kukui Grove Cinema, which is located in Lihue.
MORE...I hope no one here is a fan of the Prince Valiant comic series that is shown on Sunday's Honolulu Advertiser.
MORE...Hello. My name is isobal, and today, I was really missing Hilo so much. What prompted my missing Hilo today was a conversation that I had a work . We have a new person at my job that moved here from Florida and wanted me to talk about Hilo because she and her husband are planning on a weekend trip there. I am the wrong person to ask about Hilo.... because once I start singing Hilo's praises... I cannot stop! I remember days when we got ice cream at the Isles and sushi from Kawamoto Store and great banana split from Paramount Grill... (my mom worked there when I was a child). I remember after ballet class I walked to her job and got a banana split. Yes... the hanna butta dayz in Hilo were the best.
Posted by isobal at 09:20 PMWoo-hoo! Now there's a craigslist: honolulu. Need I say more? I've been waiting for this to happen for years. That is all.
Posted by Jon at 08:06 AMOk, it's been out for a few weeks now. Loved it? Hated it? Indifferent? Conclusive or head scratcher? Because I've been a Matrix geek from the beginning, I'm interested in people's take on the third and final(?) installment of the MatrixTrilogy. For the sake of those who haven't seen it yet, I'll refrain from any spoilers (although once comments come in...if they do...you're on your own). At any rate, Isobal and I really enjoyed it for the most part despite some pretty major plot holes. I don't think the Wachowskis so much dropped the ball on Revolutions as they did left them hovering right in front of us. Opinions?
Posted by Art at 06:48 AMA young tourist, whose blog I read every day, asked me: "Do you know of place I can go to get some tastygood cheese? I'm lactose intolerant and have to avoid cow milk but can eat goat and sheep aplenty. At the food pantry even the cheeses that are regularly sheep were cow. Cut to picture of me crying in the grocery store."
We can't have tourists weeping in supermarkets. Has anyone a suggestion?
Posted by Albert at 11:47 AMA friend sent this Inferno test to me. I was sent to the Second Level of Hell. See all the possible results here
Where will you be sent?
Posted by Leimamo at 04:09 PMHelen and I usually test any new restaurant opening in the vicinity of Ala Moana Shopping Center but we didn't get around to checking out "Marbella" until we had a holiday luncheon there on Veterans Day.
It's a small place, maybe ten-or-so tables, most of them four-seaters, although they have another section that I guess they don't open until dinner time.
The menu is the shortest I have ever seen in a restaurant. Not even a dozen choices, although the server did rattle off a bunch of "today's specials". Helen decided immediately what she wanted, I needed more time to peruse the lengthy list of choices.
There was only one employee, a young woman whom I felt sorry for. She was the hostess, the server, and judging by the serving time, maybe the cook as well.
MORE...Now this is a novel idea. Dean supporters are giving house parties around the country, and one of them is in Lanikai, hosted by Famous Amos! Bake cookies, talk story, beachwalk...might be the most interesting house party of all the ones Dean fans hold.
Posted by Linkmeister at 04:40 PMI know this got mentioned in another thread, but to this Petter Hegre or Porrarkivet or whatever you call yourself these days.
