Is it just me or do other people find it offensive that George Clooney may become the "new" Thomas Magnum or at least his younger brother? Or how about Mel Gibson as the "new" Steve McGarrett? In today's Star Bulletin online, the Reel News column dishes the Hollywood gossip on these roles.
MORE...Or the result of stress?
A few people I know--including myself--have had really strange dreams. Being a strange fellow, it's not uncommon for me to have weird dreams, but the one I experienced a little over a week ago was unnerving. Recently I discovered others were having "off-center" type sleeping adventures.
I'm curious if this is caused by some sort of mischievous hand of Goddess Winter or may it just be the stress of gift shopping and party-making.
Have any of you recently experienced strange dreams?
Posted by R-Lan at 11:17 AMThis is what pissed me off so early this Christmas Eve. Dr. Drew Pinsky and Adam Carolla have convinced me that they value radio ratings over providing a service to the teen community. What would prompt them to say such ignorant and inflammatory remarks?
Posted by Raevyn808 at 06:51 AMLooks like NBC may (or may not) film a cop series pilot set in Pearl City. Well at least that's what the show's "tentatively" going to be called according to a Reuters blurb. You guys back home knew about this? Personally, I'd watch it just to have glimpses of home while here in the east. I wonder if there's going to be any big named stars in it. Thoughts?
MORE...With just four days until LOTR: Return of the King is released I was wondering if anyone's participating in a line party for the tuesday midnight opening on Oahu. Unfortunately, Wallace Theaters isn't showing the extended versions of the first two movies here in Hilo but we will be in line early to see LOTR: ROTK.

It seems that Maui is not the only place that has mysterious big cat like sightings.
The war in Iraq has reached across the ocean, into my idyllic little island life, and touched my family. My husband discovered, the day before Thanksgiving (which coincidentally was also our 10th wedding anniversary), that his Army Reserves unit is being deployed to Iraq. It makes me wonder how many others in the HawaiiStories ohana have been affected by this war. Do you have family or friends in Iraq? If so, how are you coping? I'm even thinking of creating some kind of online support network for Hawaii families who have loved ones overseas.
