More Rough Takes

The weeks keep coming and the show must go on. This week's Rough Take show featured Doug Matsuoka, the Japanee looking Taoist master. We talked about everything from publishing on the net, producing an e-book, being a musician and making a living. It's all inter-related and mutually inclusive. One of these days I will post excerpts from the RT files. But for now you gotta catch the show on Tues. evenings from 6-7pm on KORL 690AM.

Rough Take

The Rough Take show is rolling along. So far we are in our fourth week with our most recent guest, Brad White who plays the pan-flute and has a great website on the subject at Pan-Flute.com. Previous guests include Ryan Ozawa, host of HawaiiStories, Kevin Hughes and Keiko Bonk. Brad brought a bunch of his music but in normal fashion we spent most of the time talking story. Turns out he is pretty proficient at web development and does his own Flash, QT, QTVR, GarageBand, MP3 and other html duties. Tune in on Tuesdays on KORL AM 690 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm for more surprises.

The Artic Circle

It's like traveling to another planet but the people there speak English. The landscape is awesome. As far as the eye can see there is nothing but white snow and ice. It is totally alien to anything here in Hawaii. I learned a lot about the varying degrees of cold. I can now tell you without a doubt that 20 degress feels warm compared to -20 below.

Snowy Anchorage

I left Honolulu at 8:30am on Wed. 3/3 and arrived at Anchorage AK at about 12 midnight. It was one of the longest plane rides I've ever been on. Much longer than flying to places like Fiji. Part of the problem is the circuitous route, Hono - LA - Seattle - Anchorage. Before getting here people were saying it hasn't snowed. That is usually the foreboding of snow and sure enough, today 3/4 it is snowing in Anchorage. Not big snow but just enough to make everything white. I love it but I love Hawai`i warm weather a whole lot more. I'll be checking out the Iditarod start this coming Saturday, 3/6. Stay tuned...
