“Wake up old man” said the guard.
“Is he dead?” asked Tobaz
“I don’t think so, he just tends to sleep longer than the rest of the trash here.”
“Leave him alone!” yelled the prisoner across the hall “He has done nothing to you. If you need to pick on someone pick on me!” Tobaz looked at this prisoner, he was larger than anyone who served under Zonar. Since Zonar tended to kill his enemies he wondered why this big one was spared. Tarn he could understand since the old man had knowledge of the Dicon Galactic Empire. Tobaz pointed to the big prisoner and said, “Who is that?”
“That’s Mooban,” said the guard.
“Why is he here?” asked Tobaz.
“He is kind of strong, so he is useful when we need to move large things around and he is easily controlled.” replied the guard.
Mooban growled at Tobaz and the guard.
“Don’t worry about that.” said the guard.
Tobaz turned around and mention to the guard to wake Tarn. “Wake up Tarn,” said Tobaz “Lord Zonar summons you.”
“Can’t you leave me alone” said the awaking Tarn “I want to sleep so more.”
“Get up Tarn,” said Tobaz “your master Lord Zonar summons you!”
“He is your master Tobaz, not mines.” said Tarn.
Tobaz countered by saying “Don’t be foolish old man, Lord Zonar is everyone’s master, it is the order of things in this universe, it is their destiny.”
“I would have expected Taskeven to say that.” said Tarn “Not you Tobaz, I expected you to be something else.”
“To be what?” asked Tobaz
“Anything other than this, a servant to Zonar” replied Tarn “The fact that you even asked it shows your doubt about Zonar.”
“Lord Zonar to you old man.” said Tobaz “And choose your words carefully in the future for soon will be in the presence of greatness, Lord Zonar! And Lord Zonar does not tolerate failure or incompetence. And if you do a verbal outburst in front of Lord Zonar your life will be forfeited. Now go!”
Tarn got up, Tobaz then let Tarn leave the cell first and then followed Tarn. Mooban saw this and said “Tarn!”
“Don’t worry Mooban, I will be fine” said Tarn
“Be warned” said Mooban “if you harm Tarn in any way I will kill you.”
“Be silent huge one” said the guard “or I will cause you great pain.”
“You do not scare me” growled Mooban.
“Really!” said the guard who then produced an object and pointed at Mooban. Mooban held his mid-section and screamed in pain.
“Stop it” said Tarn.
The guard stopped using the object.
“Are you alright Mooban?” asked Tarn
“I will be Tarn.” said Mooban
“Let us go.” said Tobaz.
“Tarn be well!” said Mooban.
“Take care and may the Tal-Ro guide your way home Mooban.” said Tarn
“I fear that may not come to pass since I have no home to go to.” said Mooban
“Do not worry old friend, you will have a new home to go to.” said Tarn
Mooban looked puzzled about this. Tarn looked at his friend one last time and said “The new home will present itself in time, you will know what to do when it does.”
