The Specimen

Chapter 4

Gy’Well and Loo Tan Wun looked at the being that the Outcast brought back from the space ship, it was lying on a bed in a separate section of the Triskewura medical area, also in that section were two other Fodani who were trying to treat the survivor’s wounds.

“Have we figured what it was trying to say when it got on board the Triskewura?” asked Loo Tan Wun.

“No” replied Gy’Well “but it seemed most disturbed by the presence of some of us, most notably the Flun, the Coovee and the Arcevar Nover.”

“Have any of them encountered this race before?” asked Loo Tan Wun

“Not exactly.” replied Gy’Well. Loo Tan Wun looked at Gy’Well “The Arcevar Nover have encountered one being with similar characteristics, we are attempting to secure the services of this being in the hopes that it may be able to communicate with it.”

“You are not sure this will work?” asked Loo Tan Wun

“We have no idea if this will work or not. But we must make the attempt.” replied Gy’Well.

“Gy’Well” thought Ty’hill “the link is ready.”

“Proceed” thought Gy’Well who then said to Loo Tan Wun “our help is available now.”

Loo Tan Wun notices a shimmering effect in the room. There stood another being, it made sounds that Loo Tan Wun did not understand. “What is it saying?” asked Loo Tan Wun.

“Please be patient Loo Tan Wun.” said Gy’Well “Hopefully we will find out soon enough.”

“Do you know what it is saying?” asked Loo Tan Wun

“No” replied Gy’Well

Loo Tan Wun then noticed that there were physical differences between the survivor and the being that was shimmering, size was one of them. The color of their outer skin was different, but it seemed that the survivor understood what the shimmering being said which went on for some time, then finally the survivor said some thing in the same sounds as the shimmering being used but it was a very short sound.

“What did it say?” asked Loo Tan Wun

“Ty’hill” thought Gy’Well “what did the survivor say?”

Ty’hill did not respond to Gy’Well’s question, instead the shimmering being turned to Gy’Well and Loo Tan Wun and spoke in their language and said “Beware the specimen!”
