The Specimen

Chapter 29

“This is strange.” said the commander

“What is?” asked Ty’hill

“This dead body, looks like it has been stabbed by this.” said the commander

“It sort of looks like those rods that the inhabitants used on Larbane C Four when they attacked our ground force teams.” said Ty’hill

“It is.” said De Kar “there are commonly found on that world.”

“Naturally?” asked Ty’hill

“Yes, you can find them on the surface without any effort.” said De Kar

“Do you remember if Larbane C Five have them too?” asked the commander

“Gy’Well could you please inquire if Larbane C Five has part of it’s resources those long rods we encountered on Larbane C Four.” thought Ty’hill.

“The second body seems to been stabbed too.” said Ty’hill “Should I take a rod back with us?”

“Not from these bodies but if we run into others along the way we take one or two as samples.” said the commander “I am sure Car would like to study one of them.”

“Why would I?” asked De Kar

“She meant the dirt healer.” said Ty’hill

“Oh.” said De Kar

“Notice some thing else too?” asked the commander

“That the first dead body has a rod sticking out what appears to be the top of it’s body while the second dead body’s rod has it sticking out from it’s side.” replied Ty’hill

“That too, but check out the third body, noticed that over there.” said the commander

“Would that not be the one who died by a ball of energy?” asked De Kar

“Yes but what little we know about these beings we are looking at the back of them and that wound sort of looks like it is an entry wound not an exit wound.” said the commander

“So?” asked De Kar

“The survivor claims this one approached the specimen when the ball of energy was released.” said the commander

“May be during the confusion the survivor got it wrong.” said De Kar

“Perhaps.” said the commander.

“Ky’Mod did all of you see that?” asked the commander

“We did.” replied Ky’Mod “We are ready to go in as planned.”

“Hold on Ky’Mod we will take a quick look at that door we had opened the last time we was here.” said the commander.

“You think that door we opened the last time we was here might be entrance to the lab?” asked De Kar

“It could be.” said the commander.
