The Specimen

Chapter 35

It had dragged it's prey by it's lower limbs to another room, it took a while for it to understand how to go through the walls of this place but once it figured out how it was done it was not that hard to do. After entering the room the dragged prey moaned.

"So you are still alive, it seems that I under estimate the amount of damage it will take to kill you. No matter you will be dead soon enough demon." It said.

The prey moaned again as it was dragged across the room

"And as far as your companions are concerned, they are still alive for the time being but that could change if I decided I want to consume some thing else besides you and your kind." It said.

The prey moaned and moved a little bit, it moved one of its lower limbs such that other had lost its hold on the prey.

The prey then turned on it's front and started to crawl slowly away from its attacker.

"So you flee away from me." It said "No matter I can kill you from here." It then produced a long rod from one of its limbs and said "I do not know what feels better, relieving myself of this or consuming you." It then threw the long rod at the prey hitting it on its lower limb.

"Ahhhh!!!" the prey yelled in pain of being hit but it still crawled away.

"I never had the pleasure of tasting your kind." It said.

The prey still continued to crawl away

"Your kind was long gone from our world when I came into existence." It said "You are only known as demons in our legend but in truth our kind hunted your kind on our world, consuming your kind for food, we hunted your kind until very few of you where left and then some of us gathered what remained of your kind and hid them away from the rest of our kind. We said stories of how you were demons to us, to be feared, to scare our young about your kind. Over time the rest of us forgot that you even existed and we thought we were alone, always alone in the universe."

The prey still crawled away from its tormentor.

"I myself did not know the true story of your existence, until the believers convinced the government to set up the mission to find out if we were truly alone or not. I initially was one of the non-believers but converted over due to the logic that there must be some other world that harbored other life forms. Life forms that we can consume!" It said

The prey still slowly crawled away but it found it self at the front of another being. It looked up and saw another being similar to its tormentor. The other one look down at the prey and then at the tormentor, the new one said, “This has gone far enough, you must stop this!”

“Administrator Dan Ferd how nice of you to join in, if you want you can have that one, this ship has enough demons to last us many life times and this ship can go to their world, we can bring them back to our world. Our kind can feast on them once again” It said.

“No, this is not right, we left our world to search for other life forms, to answer the question are we alone in the universe or not.” said Dan.

“We are not alone any more, we have found the demons and now other life forms, and our kind can feast on them.” It said.

“To wipe them out?” asked Dan “No this does not make any sense.”

“Jel said that too, she did not believe it. She wanted to free the specimen, to take it back to the planet. She and Wen wanted to fly the specimen back to the planet on the shuttle, to free it. I agreed at first with them, but when I saw the images of the demons on the items we found, I knew that the specimen could lead us to the demons and it did. I showed her the images to convince her about it and she said no. She was going to spoil everything so I killed her and blame it on the specimen.” It said.

“This can not be, you must stop doing this, we must return home and forgot about the demons.” said Dan.

“I do not think so.” It said “The universe will feed our hunger, it is to be their fate and our destiny, they can not stop it from happening and you can not stop it too.”

“It will stop, here and now.” said Dan

“So are you going to stop me, Administrator Dan Ferd, you?” It said

“No they will.” said Dan

“Who?” It asked

Dan moved back and seven shapes came forward.

“Pursuant to United Nations Space Fleet of Arcevar Nover regulation one, one, one, two part B, sub section four point six alpha concerning standing rules of engagement against parties of unknown intentions, I need to inform you that we are offering you an opportunity to peaceful resolve this situation and I am also authorized to offer safe passage to your home world if you so desire it in exchange for the cease meant of hostilities against this vessel and its crew. If you decide on a hostile course of action against this vessel and its crew be warned that you are facing a coalition of beings from multiple star systems with a mutual purpose in mind and will take appropriate action to protect ourselves and this vessel.” said one of the seven.

“You dare challenge me?” It said “You are mere food to me.”

“I am simply informing you of possible choices to you.” said one of the seven. “The short easy version is you come quiet, no one gets hurt, we all get to go home safe and sound, otherwise do not blame us if you get hurt really badly or get killed in the process but what ever you are doing it stops here and now.”

“For a piece of food you are amusing.” It said

“So what is your answer?” said one of the seven

“I do not listen to what food says, I shall eat you all, even though most of you will be small and meager portions to me.” It said

“Now I am offended.” said one of the seven who then clicked some thing to the object it was holding, while similar clicking’s could be heard around the room “I figured I would rate at least being a main course. Are you going to come quiet and peacefully?”

“You are no threat to me.” It said “I will defeat you all and consume your remains.”

“Perhaps.” said the one of the seven, “But be advised if you defeat us there is a whole group of Sidone who are itching for a fight and quite frankly I am just willing to let them join in.”
