Authors’ note: This is one of several alternate beginnings I had for The Specimen, this one takes place just before the events of Chapter one and was written for the National Novel Writing Month
“I believe I found something Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well.” said Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill.
“What did you find?” asked Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well
“An object that might be a space ship.” replied Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill
“Could it be the one that is raiding the planets and preying on space ships in this volume of space?” asked Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well
“I have no idea.” replied Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill.
“Are you sure?” asked Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well
“According to these instruments there is something out there sort of ahead of us.” replied Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill “I can not tell you if this object is the raider we are seeking, another victim of the raider, just a space ship going someplace, the trash from a space ship or Star ship Omega One.”
“Star ship Omega One?” asked Puma Gum Pon Ho Hi Zun who was near by hearing the conversation between Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well and Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill.
“That is what the Arcevar Nover calls it.” replied Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill “We of the Fodani Collective have no name for it, the Dicon Galactic Empire calls it The Dark Ship, and if my memory serves me right I believe you in the Sidone Union of Extended Worlds call it Zan Don Meg Plar.”
“Do not speak of it!” yelled Puma Gum Pon Till Loo Tan Wun who was also close by and was about to get angry that his assistant Puma Gum Pon Ho Hi Zun who spoke out of turn and the Fodani Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill.
“What?” asked Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill “Of the Zan Don Meg Plar?”
“No.” replied Puma Gum Pon Till Loo Tan Wun “You know full well what I mean Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill. You have spent time with them, they are without honor, perhaps they have corrupted you such that you too have no honor. Perhaps the entire Fodani Collective has been corrupted by them.”
“Enough!” said Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well “We are drawn here together to combat a problem that is common to us all, not the reopening of old wounds.” Puma Gum Pon Till Loo Tan Wun and Puma Gum Pon Ho Hi Zun bowed slightly toward Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well. Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill for her part nodded her head.
“What is the status of the object that you found Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill?” asked Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well,
“We seem to be moving away from it.” replied Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill.
“It is fleeing from us!” said Puma Gum Pon Till Loo Tan Wun “It knows we are after it. I suggest Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well that we go after this ship and destroy it in the name of our common enemy!”
“We do not know if this object is a ship or even it belongs to our common enemy who has no name, however it would be wise to be prepared. Puma Gum Pon Till Loo Tan Wun make ready all teams.”
“It will be done Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well.” replied Puma Gum Pon Till Loo Tan Wun who then turned and left. Puma Gum Pon Ho Hi Zun also followed Puma Gum Pon Till Loo Tan Wun to prepare the teams that will fight this new object.
“Sard Mun Yippy Foll” said Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well “alert all beings to be ready for anything.”
“Yes Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well” replied Sard Mun Yippy Foll.
“Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill” said Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well “keep watch over this object. Report any changes in it’s course.”
“Yes Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well” replied Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill.
“Ty’Hill do not further antagonize on the Sidone about the Arcevar Nover.” thought Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well “Everyone on the Triskewura must work together on this.”
“I will try Gy’Well.” thought Sard Mun Wen Ty’Hill
“Sard Mun Wen Zentar” said Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well “turn the Triskewura to this object.”
“Yes Sard Mun Wen Koll Lon Gy’Well” said Sard Mun Wen Zentar.
