Notes: Splat

The messy arrival of the Prologue in my brain, shortly after giving a bath to my squirmy, soapy son Zac, is what finally pushed me over the NaNoWriMo ledge. Already, though, I'm disappointed, because it sounded a lot better in my head.

My "concept" when attempting NaNoWriMo last year was to do a novel in the form of fictional news articles and diary entries of the protagonist. It turned out to be too contrived - at least to make up 1,667 words at a time - and things fizzled.

I couldn't let go of it entirely, though, and I'm thinking news stories will be scattered throughout the novel. You can take the boy out of the newsroom...
