difference of opinion

After we watched The Ring, I turned to Matt and asked, "Was that scary?"

Matt: What?
Me: I have to ask because what most people think is scary, I don't find scary at all.
Matt: Weren't you scared?
Me: No. We're you?
Matt: A little.
Me: It's not real you know.
Matt: Supernatural things are real.
Me: When objects begin flying around the room I'll be one of the first people to freak out, but movies aren't real.

That conversation led to an informal survey of people we know which led to the conclusion that I'm somewhat of an oddity not to have been fazed by the movie.

We watched the U.S. and original Japanese versions back to back. Both were almost incredibly freaky. Take the best parts of both and make a third version, and I think you'll be onto something. Posted by: Ryan on January 12, 2004 5:52 PM
