robotic goodness

Darrett, my robotic friend, has posted a rare entry on his site, but I am sad I can't post comments on it, especially since I've got that Monty Python song stuck in my head now. (Hint. Hint. Are you reading this Dr. D? Bring back the comments!)

[sleep][do you have it?]

Darrett has the special robot skill of sensing when I am logged onto Final Fantasy XI. I know he does, because all of his phone calls in the past I don't know how long have been timed exactly when I am on. He thinks I'm an FFXI addict, but I think he just has special robot timing. When he asks me what I'm doing, I don't even want to say anymore. The guilty silence already speaks for itself.

Well, maybe I'm becoming a little addicted.

Last night I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd just turn on the PS2 and log on to check my plants and my auctions, but that turned into squinting at Matt hours later pointing at the TV screen saying "I have no idea what they are saying." I think he was a little relieved when he saw that it was Japanese text scrolling up the screen and his wife had not actually lost her mind.

edited to add: the game is in english, I joined a party of japanese players to kill monsters and they were chatting a whole bunch.

four

My niece, Sarah, turned four recently. Some of my friends had a shared reaction to this occurance, a combination of "wow, she's growing so quickly" and "wow, we're getting old." Personally, I think that I'm another year closer to a time when she no longer runs at me to hug me, but instead will roll her eyes and say something teenager-ish. Got to enjoy the hugs while I can.

Mr. Grouchypants

Both my nephew and I survived our day o' fun together. The biggest mishap was probably that more food got on him and his bib than actually in his mouth.

virtual mochi

Happy Boy's Day!

Last night I sent Matt off to work with a stash of mochi. Told him he could only eat it after midnight, when it is officially is Boy's Day. I'm not sure if he's keen on the idea of boy's day, but he's not going to argue with yummy mochi :)

My brother is putting up koinobori this year and he's delighted by it. I really hope both my nephew and I survive tomorrow. And after reading Darrett's post, I'll be shocked if he doesn't call sometime during Friday to make sure that my nephew is still alive.

three

Currently, I'm on the third computer that I've migrated to since my initial laptop breakdown. It would be funny if it wasn't so frustrating.

i killed them all <-- Matt wrote that.

He's playing Halo on Xbox Live and came over to see what I was up to on our shiny new computer.

On Friday, I'm watching my six month old nephew for the day. I'm afraid. I keep telling my brother that he needs to come home from work as early as possible. He looks at me oddly and I say, "Aren't you afraid I'm going to accidentally break your child?" He says, of course not. I am. My only relief is that Sarah will be at preschool, so I only have to worry about not killing one of his children.
