At work it came to our attention that one of our student workers has gotten another job at a major department store without informing us. It raised some questions with his supervisor. She wondered out loud, Does that mean he's leaving? Is that a temporary holiday job? Will that cut into his work hours with us? At this point I stop her and say, Yes we definitely need to ask him questions... 1. Does he get a discount. 2. How much is that discount. And 3. Does that discount apply to items already on sale or clearance. She was only slightly amused at our difference in priorities.
