In the past couple of weeks, I've been bumping to people that I have not seen in a long time. Long time meaning, years. Many years.
I attended a wedding for a friend who I had not seen in over twelve years. Aside from my other two high school friends (and their + 1) sitting at the table I had assumed that I wouldn't know anyone else there. Imagine how the one person on our table, who did know all three of us back in the day, felt when we were staring at him baffled as he tried to jog our memories.
Dude: It's me! [Insert-name-here] don't you remember?
Us: Ummm....
Dude: *Pointing at my friend M.* You tied me to a chair! And you! *Pointing at me* You managed to... *demonstrating with his hands* tie my hands together.
Rest of the wedding table: Ummm...
Us: Oh! *laughter*
Me (saying to M.): I guess we left quite an impression.
Earlier this week, I bumped into a friend of a friend at my workplace in the middle of me trying to ninja attack one of my co-workers. We did a quick catch up and after he told me where he was currently working, I tried explaining that I work there.
Me: So, yeah, I work here. But I took off my tags and keys so I could sneak up on her. *Pointing at co-worker about 10 feet away* You know, makes too much noise.
Friend of Friend: I know. [Friend] told me you work here.
Later on, my co-worker who I was trying to attack (and knew about the wedding incident) asked me, "So, did you tie him up too?" She busted out laughing because I had to stop and think about it. "No, but I'm sure my friend has told him many stories about me. Probably why he didn't even blink when I told him I was trying to sneak attack you."
Makes me wonder who else might pop up.
