It's just us

He is ALIVE

04.29.04

After a week of anxiety he finally resurfaces. That’s right folks, I’m talking about my dear hubby. It seems he was got sick after eating something, poor guy. I guess I’ll need to make sure I have all his favorite foods on hand when he returns home.

  • Sunday - Hot dogs and Pork ‘n Beans
  • Monday - Hot dogs and Pork ‘n Beans
  • Tuesday - Hot dogs and Pork ‘n Beans
  • Wednesday - Hot dogs and Pork ‘n Beans
  • Thursday - Hot dogs and Pork ‘n Beans
  • Friday - Hot dogs and Pork ‘n Beans
  • Saturday - Hot dogs and Pork ‘n Beans
  • Kamalani is so bad. She fights all the time with Fran so yesterday, Fran was ignoring her. Kamalani apologized for being mean but Fran wouldn’t acknowledge her. Finally, when Fran was ready to leave, she said goodbye to me then said, “I’m not saying goodbye to Kamalani because she’s always mean to me.” Kamalani was sitting next to me and she sorta held her hand out just enough that I could spot her birdie. When she noticed that I saw what she was doing, she immediately put down her middle finger and said, “ooops”. Like it went up on accident or something. I can’t WAIT til her papa gets home!

    It’s been so cold lately

    04.26.04

It’s been so cold lately. What happened to the warm sunny days we had up until a few days ago? I don’t mind the sprinkles but I hate the cold, wind and rain combination. Even Fran was freezing in here and she’s rarely ever cold.

Starbucks is my new enemy. I’m addicted to their mocha frappuccinos. I have between 2 and 4 EVERY day. Today however, I’m not purchasing any of those delicious specialty java. No no. Today, I’m brewing a pot of Kona Coffee instead.

Speaking of mocha, that’s the new color of my hair. Mocha. I was craving Starbucks when I purchased the hair color, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Actually, it’s just dark brown with a fancy name. I love these marketers, they know our weaknesses.

Kamalani is the same, she spent the entire weekend indoors because of the bad weather and all she did was fight with Fran. They battled to see who could yell the loudest, at least that’s what it seemed like to me. I was tempted several times to lock both of them in the house and just drive away, far far away from home. -G-

    Just Saturday

    04.24.04

Well, today’s weather sucks. It’s raining right now and it’s been cold so we stayed indoors. Meg went to work and Fran slept over lastnight. She’s still over, relaxing and watching VH1. We’ll be watching Master and Commander in a bit. Kamalani has been especially naughty. Well, mainly whiney and it’s driving me nuts. I feel badly for her because she loves her mom so much but her mom loves money so she works and it takes away time with Kamalani.

Anyways, yesterday they went to Sea Paradise which is about a 20 minutes train ride away. Kamalani was very excited about her day, she told me about the dolphins and the seals. She also told me about the Peter Pan ride and asked if we could go again another day. Of course I said yes, but after her Papa returns. She’ll hold us to that.

    Seika Japanese Preschool

    04.22.04

I can’t remember if I mentioned the Japanese ladies I met when I took Kamalani to the park but they gave me the phone number to a Japanese Preschool that they send their children to. We chatted for a bit about the school and it sounded like a very good deal:

  • Provided pick up and drop off service
  • Five days per week; 9 am - 4 pm
  • Instruction in Japanese
  • 30,000 yen/month - Great deal!
  • So, I called the school today to get more information. As it turned out the ladies forgot to mention a few important details:

  • 70,000 yen Entrance Fee (nearly $700 USD)
  • 10,000 yen Registration Fee (nearly $100 USD)
  • 3,000 yen Entrance Exam (nearly $30 USD)
  • 21,000 yen Uniform (nearly $210 USD)
  • 34,000 yen Tuition per month (nearly $340 USD)
  • Comprehensive Curriculum from McGraw Hill Children’s Publishing book for PreK purchased at the NEX $24.95

Can you guess where Kamalani will be getting her PreK education? Yep, right here at home with grandma, mommy and Papa.

    An observation

    04.21.04

I didn’t notice this before, but I have the ability to close comments with this blog thing. There’s also an option to password the posts (not that I’d add a password, since it would defeat the purpose of blogging, no?). But I’m feeling adventurous so I’ll close the comments on this entry just to see what it looks like. Yeah, I’m kinda bored so I’m humoring myself.
