The other night, Meg rented Walking Tall, starring The Rock. It was entertaining enough, nothing like the original but I thought Johnny Knoxville’s character, an ex-druggie felon, complimented the Rock’s do-gooder character. The Rock is eye candy for me and Meg and hubby loves the fighting sequences so it was a good family time movie to watch.
We watched the Emmys a few weeks ago and saw that Angels in America won quite a few awards. We knew it was an HBO original and since we don’t have HBO, we didn’t think we’d ever see what it was about. I have to admit, I expected it to be smililar to Touched by an Angel but I was so far off. Megan found that the DVD rental store had it in stock so she rented both Parts One and Two. I loved it and couldn’t sleep until I watched both DVDs. It was nearly 6 a.m. before I finally couldn’t keep my eyes opened anymore. When hubby woke up, he watched for a few minutes then saw that it was about gay guys, he felt uncomfortable and asked us why we’d rent it. I was trying to explain the movie to him but he wasn’t hearing it. I just laughed and called him a homophobic as he logged on to the computer while I continued watching the end of Disk 2. I think if he could get past the gay stuff, he’d enjoy the storyline. But then, I could be wrong. I don’t ever recall him being uncomfortable watching women prison movies. Go figure!
