All this technology for what?

Well since my brother has never had seizures before Monday, the attending doctor at the hospital prescribed a large amount of meds for my brother. He said he wanted to see how much would need to be adjusted in a few days. Lopaka (my brother) went to get his blood drawn at the clinic yesterday but no one there had any clue that he was also supposed to get bloodwork for the drug level. I told the tech that he doesn’t want to take the meds anymore because they make him feel dizzy. She checked the computer to see if the doctor had ordered it but none showed up. She said that she’ll run it STAT so someone could call to advise me on how much adjustment needs to be made based on the results.
No one called. So I called the clinic to see if there was any word, they were closed and won’t be opened til Monday morning. I paged the attending physician and he returned the call and left a message on my voicemail stating that he thought the clinic was going to do the adjustments. What the hell’s wrong with these people? I’m beginning to wonder if this is just aDSHS thing. In person they all seem so caring but when I have to keep calling these different places and no one knows what anyone is doing I just have to wonder, you know?
So here’s the deal. I begged my brother to take the prescribed dosage one more time and promised that I’ll get it straight in the morning. He groaned but took it so this morning I called the hospital and left a message with the nurse’s station for the doctor to look at the results that is in the computer (the nurse verified that it was there) and give me the adjusted amount. I also let the nurse know that Lopaka doesn’t want to take it anymore so somebody needs to call me right away because I don’t want him suffering another seizure. Now I wait.

start wrting a journal on your brother’s medications and what the doctors or nuuses was saying. If you brother sufferedd needlessly you have information of time, date, circumstanses, etc.
good luck.
