Ok, I think it went well. The persons who interviewed me seemed somewhat comfortable interviewing me. It wasn’t very formal although they took notes on all of my reponses. I felt good and pretty confident after leaving the office. All I can do now is wait for word by the end of the next or the beginning of next week. Who knows, I might be a working girl by next Wednesday. cha-ching!
My friend Bernie has a grandson who is the same age as Kamalani. In fact, they attend the same school though they’re not in the same kindergarten class. His name is Jared. He’s the only one of Bernie’s grandchildren that Kamalani has never been mad at — until yesterday.
Okay, so a lot has happened since Grandma’s birthday. Kamalani started school, Meg got a new job, Lopaka started his stroke therapy, hubby did a George Washington on our cherry tree and I’m still keep on keeping on.
Kamalani love kindergarten. Everday when she comes home from school I ask her how her day was and she gives me full details of her day. They do a thing called “centers” where the children rotate through different centers and does different activities such as art, math, reading, snacks. She said she has a lot of friends now and she’s not the smallest child in her class which is hard to believe because she’s very tiny for her age. Meg normally doesn’t start work until after 10 a.m. so she walks Kamalani to school and sometimes she walks her home or we’ll pick her up. Yesterday, my brother had an appointment to get an EEG so hubby was in charge of dropping her off and picking her up from school. When I got home I asked how her day was and asked if her Papa walked her home or if he drove. She said he drove his “chick mobile” then she told me not to worry because he didn’t pick up any chicks. I asked her what a “Chick” was and she said, “It’s when a man dresses up like a woman.” Then she turned to me and asked if I remember the movie White Chicks I nodded and told her it’s a good thing her Papa didn’t pick up any chicks.
I had the appointment with my doctor but he told me he didn’t receive the report of my MRI so he doesn’t know what sort of treatment I need - so, I need to make another appointment. I called the MRI lab and asked if they sent the report to him and they said they faxed it on the 9th. I told them he didn’t have it and since I would be in the area I wanted to know if I could drop in to pick up a copy of the report. Next time I meet with him, I’ll have the report for sure.
Meg loves her new job at Radio Shack. She’s a people person and she loves to talk to people so sales is right up her ally. She’s doing really well for not having any previous sales experience and she is still excited about all the new sales skills she’s learning every day.
I spoke to my prodigal son and he asked if I had added more money to his account. I told him I didn’t so he figured it was my youngest son who made the deposit. I told him it must feel like Christmas for him. He laughed and said yeah it does. He asked about everybody’s health and I told him we were all doing good. Whenever I talk to him I feel proud that although he’s done some really stupid things, he still remembers to be compassionate and caring. While others see him as being another inmate, I see him as the boy scout, athlete, performer. I see him as my son.
I think the medication just kicked in because I feel sleepy. Goodnight y’all.
Today is my grandmother’s birthday. She died a few days shy of her 87th birthday. She would’ve been 91 today. I miss her terribly. Happy Birthday Grams.
Lastweek was busy busy busy for me. On Thursday, I went and got my MRI done. Now I need to make an appointment with my doctor so he can read it.
Friday, I took Lopaka to see a neurologist and it went well. He examined my brother’s eyes and saw that his pupils were twitching because of the high dose of meds so he omitted one of the two anti-seizure medication. He said he can understand why my brother sees double. He also ordered another blood test to check ensure all his organs are working properly. He will have my brother get an EEG to check his brain waves and he’s also going to get him some stroke therapy.
