Trouble in Paradise

My friend Bernie has a grandson who is the same age as Kamalani. In fact, they attend the same school though they’re not in the same kindergarten class. His name is Jared. He’s the only one of Bernie’s grandchildren that Kamalani has never been mad at — until yesterday.
When I picked her up from school she was standing in line next to Jared. He asked if I was going to pick him up too but I told him his mom didn’t tell me to get him so he had to wait for her at school. As we were leaving, I said goodbye to him and Kamalani kept saying goodbye to a girl that was standing next to him. I told her to say goodbye to Jared and she told me she’s not talking to him. I was surprised because she always look forward to seeing her “cousin” at school. So I was curious and asked her why she wasn’t talking to him. She said she was mad at him because he has a girlfriend. oh oh. So I asked if she was jealous because Jared had a girlfriend and she said YES. Then she started to vent. She told me she doesn’t know why he likes her because the girl (Shelly) isn’t pretty like her (Kamalani). Yikes!
So when we got home, I had to tell hubby about it. She took her frustrations out on him by ordering him to close the van door for her. I just kinda laughed at that. Later on I told him he’s a male and Jared is a male so at that moment she hated all males. Gotta love that spaz.
When we picked up her mom, I told her about Kamalani’s dilemna so like any good mother, she called Jared’s mom and told her that her son was breaking Kamalani’s heart. So cute. She told Megan that Jared mentioned something about Kamalani being mad at him but he doesn’t know why. So Megan asked Kamalani if she wanted to talk to Jared on the phone and Kamalani responded by saying, “no I’ll wait to talk to him about this at school.” As you can imagine both of their mothers and grandmothers were cracking up because these kids act like little adults. We’ll see if they’re still friends when we pick her up from school today.
By the way, I have a job interview in 1 1/2 hours. I hope I get hired. I thought writing today would somehow calm my nerves. It’s been 11 years since I last interviewed for a job. My stomach is starting to turn from the anxiety. I need to get dressed. Wish me luck!

Ahhh, first LOVE. HOW EXCITING! A job interview after eleven years? GOOD LUCK! Wishing the the best as always!
