Hubby and I were watching a news show one night and they talked about a toy that you normally wouldn’t think could be fatal, but it can and it has been. A child died after swallowing the magnets that hold the pieces together.

Hazard: Tiny magnets inside the plastic building pieces and rods can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract to each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage, which can be fatal. If I didn’t see the program for myself, I probably would have a difficult time believing such a small little object could cause so much damage. At first I thought the death might’ve been from choking on the pieces. I was so wrong. Magnets are another thing to keep out of toddlers and infants reach.
