They’re gone

The last of the kids left on Thursday so that gave me some time to unwind from the whirlwind of having 8 extra persons in the hale.
Having all of them visit at one time was not as good an idea as I thought it would be only because my house is so small and I was feeling kinda claustaphobic. My grandchildren were everything I had hoped they would be: funny, cute, wascally and smart. Although it took some time for them to get used to us, by the time they left they were comfortable being around us. We could tell because they started their selective hearing program. HeHe
Since my last post, my Prodigal Son has checked out of his vacation home and is now living with my cousin in Boston. He’s already started working and he even got promoted from window washer to Master of da Grill. Ok, that just means he’s flipping burgers but it’s still a J-O-B. We talk to each other almost daily. It feels really good having him back.
Yesterday Kamalani was sitting with us and she was telling us that her mom would rather hang out with her friends than spend time with her. So I told her that we spend time with her and she said … “That’s because you don’t have any friends.” Can I smack her now??? Huh??? Can I??? Pleeeeeeeease!!!!!!
I told her we can’t have any friends because we always have to hang out with her. Gosh, don’t you hate when they already have kick-ass comments at this age?

Kids nowadays dey get da answa and dey no sked talk back, cause I know if I wen talk to my parents da way dey talk to me sometimes; oooh moe den good lickings would happen yeah. So as parents I wen adjust but sometimes moe betta if dey just shuttup yeah.
