Why I hate grocery shopping

The other day I needed a loaf of bread so after my hair appointment, I headed over to Saar’s Marketplace because it’s on my way home. I walked in and saw that they had peaches on sale for $.98/lbs. Right then I decided I wanted to can more sliced peaches so I bought 11 pounds. Then I strolled in my favorite section, the Asian Foods, and there it was, displayed nicely on the chilled shelf — Hawaiian Sun drinks. They were 49 cents each so I bought 6 cans of Strawberry Guava and 6 cans of Lilikoi. Then I saw Redondo’s Mild Portugese Sausage for $4.11 so I bought 8 of those. I usually grab a few of the Hot ones but Kamalani says it’s too hot for her, either one works for me. Then I mosied on down to the freezer section and grabbed 30 cans of frozen Hawaiian Sun juice concentrates in various flavors. They were on sale for $1.00 each for the large can.
Oh yeah, and I almost forgot to grab that loaf of bread. When I got to the register I had over $80.00 worth of food I hadn’t intended on buying before I stepped in there. I was surprised that I didn’t forget the bread. I hardly go to Saar’s because their parking is so congested all the time and I usually shop at the commissary. It’s when I’m running low of Aloha Shoyu or the above mentioned that I’ll shop there. I went at the best time too, everything was on sale. Oh and no sales tax on food. woo hoo ![]()
Kamalani is too cute, when I asked her what she wanted for breakfast, she said. “I want some Pokagese sausage with shoyu and rice.”

I do da same ting. Maybe it is a wahine ting, I gotta look see and check tings out and if us see someting us like well us going gettum. Whereas da GUYS walk in straight to da bread or stuff thats needed anden go straight to da cash register, yeah. Ja’like dey get blinders on. LOL
Nah nah nah… My husband da one! At least wen we stay on tight budget. I tell him, “Get ONI wat on da list, brah!” But nope! He brings home all wat kine we no need yet. Den I gotta give him da slippah.
Until I go Uwajimaya, dat is!
