Wow, am I good or what? I wasn’t sure which charter company my hubby went on when I wrote the last entry but as it turned out it was Sea Breeze Charters.
After they docked from their 12 hour fishing trip, my hubby called to inform me that he had caught ONE albacore tuna. Then he told me he’d tell me all about the trip when he got home but since he was at the tuna cannery he asked if I wanted him to purchase more tunas. So he bought the tuna and started on their 5 hour trek back home.
When he got home he was just exhausted. Being that this was his first ever fishing trip he wasn’t sure what to expect but what happened on the trip isn’t what anyone would’ve expected anyway. First he told me that there was NO fresh bait so they had to use lures to fish with. I told him they advertise FRESH high quality bait for albacore fishing. Then he said they had to take turns fishing so most of the time they were sitting in the cabin while three at a time were on deck fishing. All of the passengers (12) only had one chance up on deck. They advertise 12 hours trip or early limit (which includes 4 hours total travel time) but that’s was not what they got. Hubby didn’t pay out all that money to sit in the cabin of a boat for most of the trip. Then I find out that he didn’t have the opportunity to use the custom sportfishing rods, reels, and tackle that they advertise on their website. He had to use a hand line to pull in his catch.
I told him he needs to write a complaint letter to the company to get compensation for such a horrible experience. We understand that catching is not guaranteed but we should at least get the services and items that we paid for - and they didn’t deliver.
