A very good friend of ours went back home for a family emergency and wanted to know if I wanted her to bring anything back. My sister-in-law had some bags of poi and kalua pig that she’s been meaning to send me but didn’t have the time to send it off so I sent my son to pick it up from her and drop it off with my friend.

They all went on this errand and my friend took photos of my son and his family. While she held my grandson, she told him that his grandma will be sooooooo mad because she got to hold him before I did. My son was sure to phone me when they left her house to tell me that Aunty Kim got to hold the baby and not only that, she even took pictures to prove it. *waaaaaawaaaaaa* They’re so mean to me! I called my friend to ask her to send me the pictures because I only have his newborn pics. Like a true friend, she made sure to include the ones with her in it too. Tha biotch! *LOL*

So, here are the pics she sent.

Okay, so I went to sistah Lika’s blog and took a test that she had posted. Well, here’s the result

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really “Satan” at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

Making changes

03.02.07

Geeeezus.  This is my second attempt to post this entry, so here goes!

I know I’ve been away from this blog for some time now.  I’ve been making some changes in my life.  For instance, I joined Weight Watchers.  Hey, I never in a zillion years thought I’d ever do it but then there comes a point in your life when you say who cares what anyone else thinks.  They’re not carrying around this load, I am.  So there!

Anyways, it’s a mental thing for me.  When I’m in a room filled with other people who are after the same goal, it makes me feel like I have the backing to continue to move forward.  Silly, isn’t it but if that’s what works for me, then I’m going for it.  I met some people at the meetings who simply inspired me.  They tell me about how their health has improved greatly since joining Weight Watchers.  Some of them no longer need certain medications.  Good for them!  I’m not at that point where I need medication which is what led me to join in the first place.  I had a physical done a few months ago and my doctor told me that I’m just below the borderline.  HELLO!  That was the moment I decided I needed to do something before I reach the border, ya’ know.  In a month, I’ve lost 14 lbs.

The other change is … I applied for a receptionist position at a small local business.  A very good friend of mine referred me and I think I did pretty good at the initial meeting with the owner and today’s interview.  She said she’s definitely calling me back next week for another interview with her husband.  I’m excited and very hopeful.  I really want this job.  The owner seemed impressed with me, probably because I wasn’t nervous and she could tell my answers were genuine.  So send some positive vibes my way, please.

‘Til next time, a hui hou!

Diva in training

01.22.07

There are a few simple pleasures that I’ll allow myself and one of those is a manicure. I tell my husband that I need them because my nails are so weak from doing dishes by hand and he sorta buys that excuse. During Kamalani’s winter break I had to take her with me on one of the appointments. The nail tech knows my family so after she was done with my nails she asked Kamalani if she’d like her nails done too. Kamalani’s eyes widened and her face lit up, then she looked at me for my approval and of course I said sure. So I got off my seat and she quickly took my place. I had to take a picture of the little diva in training with the camera phone so I could send it to her mom who was at work. Meg has been wanting to do a mother-daughter day at the beauty shop but her schedule fluctuates too much to plan a date. When she received the picture she called back to say that I am soooooo mean! The nail tech was chuckling because she knew that Meg wouldn’t be too happy about it. Kamalani felt like a she was all grown up and couldn’t wait to show her mother her manicure. Then she started talking about what she wants done “next time”. I don’t recall saying there would be a next time. I have a feeling I’ll be regretting this day. ~LOL~
