One of the things stressed to me when I got outta da hospital was that I am very susceptable to my calcium going down too low. The Drs stressed that if I felt like tingling in my hands or lips that I should go to the emergency room. That kinda freaked me out because I was clueless as to what they were talking about, it was news to me. They also told me I needed to see an Endocrinologist asap.
Luckily I got an appointment to see an Endo and he explained stuff to me which made more sense then go to the ER if you feel tingling of hands or lips. The one thing my Endo Dr explained to me was that my hands could like feel a cramp and go ridged, and he showed me with his hands - bending his writst & pulling it up to his chest. And I said OMG we do that all the time at work when we do something retarded and we go like dat and go ‘duuuuhhhh’. He said, yes if you’re hands go like that its your calcium level. I was like, ai da bachi yeah me!
When I went back to work I told the ladies I work with about what the doctor said. They all looked at me and said so if you do it, its for real? I said could be! How bad is dat.
Anyway this a.m. I’m walking the track and I feel like pins & needles in my right hand and the first think I think of is “calcium.” Either that I slept on my right side again and my circulation is messed up. Both. I’ve been bad about taking’um my vitamins and calcium. You would think I’ve learned by now and should have to wait till there are signs that tell me I’m falling apart. *L*
Actually I don’t look like I’m falling apart. There are just certain days when I feel like I am falling apart. *L*
