I was a product of a 2 parent household and so are my kids. In this day and age thats kind of iffy and there are a lot more single parent families. I know I would be a really junk single parent. I would have either beaten the kids within an inch of there lives or I would have let them run wild like wolves. I think for me it would have really been hard to find a mid ground. I guess I can’t really say cause my kids had their Dad around.
I think my kids without a Dad would have turned out way different. It would be a scarey thought to think that I was their only parental guidance growing up. I can talk any kind now about raising kids because my kids are grown. They are self sufficient productive citizens of their community and I am grateful for that. They ain’t drinking & drugging and in and out of jail or anything bad like that so I am even more grateful for that.
Dads are a significant influence in a child’s life. All kids have one but not all kids really have one. You know what I mean. Granted there are some instances of some very dysfunctional Dads, but in general Dad’s are a good thing. They mean well even if comes out wrong, I think. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. Dads are good thing. Everyone should have one around. Or at least one they can look up to and respect.
Kids don’t always agree with their Dad. I know I didn’t. Gosh, I use to get dirty licking. And I told myself I wouldn’t do that to my kids. I’m thinking I didn’t but they may disagree. I pinched! LOL
