My #2 is my clone. Accept she’s smarter, prettier & makes moe money. *L* People mistake us for one another sometimes.
In high school when I use to go to the football or basketball games; I would hear people yelling at me “Star, Star!” I wouldn’t answer, I knew I just left her at home still yet getting ready waiting for her friends. My son would be like ‘mom they’re calling you Star.’ I’m like I know, I have tell her I think she got fat. *L* Then when I’d see her at the game I would tell her that. She would tell me, “Mom thats my shirt you have on!” Oh.
#2 is a PhD Candidate at Oklahoma University in Norman, OK. Go Sooners. She’s going to be Dr. O! As of December ‘05 she is PhD, ABD. All But Dissertation. She has a year to defend her thesis. Whatever it is. *L*
Last year a man walked up to Star and said I know you. She said no you don’t. He insisted yes he does. Finally she told him, I bet you’re thinking of my mom & dad and she told him who her parents were. He was like that who I thought you were, you’re that little girl?
I have one baby picture of me. Everybody especially the kids insist thats Star. Its kind of a carbon copy, but if you look at the stroller I’m sitting in. Hello, its very dated. LOL I have my Ewa School class pictures from 1st grade-7th grade. When Star looked at it she said she just has to look for somebody who looks like her.
When I look at Star I don’t see her as looking like me. I see her as looking like her. She wears makeup, she fixes her hair real nice nice, Miss very put together. Me I’m da Tita version yeah, my hair style is wash & go. My idea of putting on makeup is lip gloss. LOL And what I wear is what I wear, TitaSheek. LOL
I am really proud of #2, she’s has worked hard to get where she is and I believe its due to that good work ethic. Our family calls Star’s PhD. the family PhD because she always calls to brainstorm ideas. She calls all of us and asks opinions and ideas about different topics she has to write or research on. Use to be in HS the kids would ask for ideas and everybody in da house would be making up stuff and giving ideas, making jokes and bringing up questions. Those use to be our brainstorming sessions and da fam still does it now; only its via da phone or email.
She is the first Doctorate candidate in all our families. You know I think if I had direction when I was growing up, I coulda woulda shoulda. Not. Would I do all that writing. Maybe. *L*

Wow! So numba two daughter looks like you…if it’s anything like your picture, thats real beautiful! My two girls both look like me but like your daughter they know how to dress and put make-up on. Everytime they get on my case about my hair, clothes or how I dance seductively when I’m drunk. My son gets overly upset. Eh, they can look like us…but they never can be like us. We from a special time and place. They are the new generation…more oportunities lil’dat for them.
Good luck to your first Doctor in the family…she comes from a great family, most especially a great and wonderful mommy!
