This morning we went to Denny’s. It wasn’t really busy but they took forever. Ok not forever, they were just slow.

I don’t mind slow wen they stay swamped and everything, people can be a pain in da ass especially wen your rushing around busy. So if you going slow and not enough people are there, hey just tell us. We always bring the newspaper to read so not a problem.

So happens they, the crew at this particular Denny’s; did not have their crap together. There’s usually a system & rhythm to a crew and obvious there was none of that. Just chaos and so things took a little longer.

My daughter was facing the kitchen and she was “critique-ing” them. She was like “that one plate has not been picked up for a long time, it better not be mine.” She use to waitress so she was watching how the crew was working in a chaotic manner. Anden one waitress comes in later and starts to mouth off to the cooks etc. Very unbecoming, like we wanted to hear her bitch and moan. Thats what the customers usually do.

Not all Denny’s are the same mind you. Like there was dat one Denny’s in the Washington, DC area who IGNOREDED a table of Black males. They served all the other aka white customers first. So happened, these Black folks were FBI agents or Secret Service or somehing or other and Denny’s got sued for that “profiling” episode. The customers won.

Denny’s in general are okay. Especially late at night alot of times thats the only place opened. We went to the Denny’s in Kona one time because I was thinking mainland prices & portagee sausage and I knew how much breakfast usually cost us there. Well, when the bill came my eyes bugged outta my head. A French toast platter or French Slam was like $8.99! I totally did not read $ in the menu and was just looking at da pic-chas and ordered what I usually do without looking at da price. Hello, what a wake up call. Da French toast platter or French Slam is usually around $5.99 in da mainland.

I like IHOP, you know International House of Pancakes. If/when we go on weekend mornings the place is packed. But they move things right along and its not so bad. The service is decent even when they are packed and it really fast on week days. So it seems their staff have got their crap together.

Again, not all IHOPs are the same I’m sure there’s one thats pissed off some one somewhere. It hasn’t been me, yet. But if they do I’ll let y’all know. *L*
