Her name is Hurrican Rita! Katrina now Rita, who’s next? Or what’s next? I don’t know but with each massive evacation we are learning. Sad that learning includes death and destruction.

Whats up with all these hurricanes? Global warming? DAY AFTER TOMORROW, remember that movie? Now that was a spooky movie probably because I looked at it as being very possible. In thinking that, I know I would be one of the first human popsicles. Can’t handle that cold.

Hopefully Rita won’t come ashore full force like the Cat 5 she is/was out in the ocean. Being on an island Galvastonians understands they are at the mercy of mother nature. You do what you gotta do.

In Katrina people complanined of not putting the elderly on buses to be evacuated. In Rita they put elderly on buses to be evacuated. Oxygen bottles, tanks whatever they are called are not allowed on school buses, its a standard school transportation regulation. I think we all know the reason why now. That shoulda never happened. But hindsight is 20/20 ain’t it. Woulda shoulda coulda.

I think its interesting that there are a bunch of Houston people who are riding out the storm at home and are “blogging” it. Its a different perspective from listening to the news.

Yep, I’m so grateful for what we have. Even if I have so little. My family, shelter, food, Mayor Wrights Housings, etc. We are all so fortunate. I live everyday and thankful for new day that I wake up to and when I go to sleep!
