The word ‘Reputation’ reminds me of high school. You know how some girls & guys had a bad reputation. I remember my parents reminding me I shouldn’t hang around people who have a BAD reputation because then people will think the same about me. Problem is they did not define BAD and everything kids did was bad. There were always the girls with the bad reputation aka easy aka hoa’s. Whore implies they take money. Ok plain ole sluts. But guys with the same sleep around bad rep would be considered Playboys. Puh-leeze! Mantramp. ManHoa. Woteva. Double standards. LOL

But you know how in high school kids were identified by their clicks or clique or wotchacall it, who they hung around wit. Like there were the jocks, the brainy ones, da popular girls aka cheerleaders, anden da other groups of popular girls the prissy girly girls, the surfas and the gangstas, woteva.

The ‘group’ I hung around with were smart but we didn’t go to class, cutout gang LOL, so our grades did not reflect our minds. Not a good excuse. We were friends wit everybody. It wasn’t till I went to our 20something class reunion that one of the guys said, “I remembah you, Da Battroom Girls!” Yeah, we hung out in the bathroom. That was our offices, thank you very much. *L* You like talk to me in private, step into my office. So it was a booth, toilet booth. LOL Da Battrroom Girls would all be sitting around on da floor on their books, somebody always had a ukulele and we would sing and talk story and tease everybody. Battrooms have great accoustics. Our battroom was da battroom dat da mahus could come in and not feel threatened. Plus us was niele and we asked them all kinds of homo questions. It was edcuational. So dat was/is my high school reputation.

Fast forward to now. I recently started posting on hawaiithreads.com. I’ve only done less then 50 postings to date. HT has this ‘Reputation’ system right. Green gum red gum. Its like if people like what you posted they can give you an approval, so you score a green square lookes like a chiclet, hence the gum analogy. If people don’t like what you posted they can give you a “disapproval” which will give you a red square.

I got a few introductory this gums for you. Cool. Also to date I’ve gotten 2 reds, disapprovals. Which I found interesting. It spawned this topic didn’t it? *L* Whats interesting is the people who give green gum/approval leave a note and initials or name. The people who give the red gum/disapproval, don’t comment don’t leave initials or name. Why? Cause somebody like NTPupule or Handsome Johnny Berrand might come body slam dem ~ not. Ok NTPupule might JackieChang or throw a right upper cut to some shithead. LOL But this is cyberspace yeah and people will write what they write.

I haven’t given anyone any Redgum. I don’t plan to. But you neva know. My thinking is if you can’t say anything nice, den shutup. Dats hard to do some times. But I can refrain from giving out Redgum. Although some posts just begs for it. I must restrain myself. *L*

I just thought it was interesting dat I got RED GUMMED. I got Redgummed for an opinon on Dog the Bounty Hunta and an opinon about genocide in Hawaii. I thought it was funny that I got Dogged about the Dog. Auwe. It was my opinon ~ I took offense to Hawaii being call HIS ISLAND. I knew that my feeling la dat was not right and I stated that. My freedom of expression brought another persons expression of disapproval with Redgum. So I suppose my reputation is Anti-Dog now. DBH has a dirty job but somebody has to do it, I’m sure he has the best of intentions, I don’t doubt that. I dislike the white guy good, bad guy brown stereotype. He is milking it for all it is, its his money in the bank & his fame, my opinon has nothing to do with his success. His success is his. A question was asked, I answered with my opinon and I’m labeled a hater, sorta kinda but not really. So you gotta hate the hater? I wasn’t hating hating but perhaps the persception is taken that way. Its the frkng internet, hello we don’t know each other and IF you did know me you wouldn’t take offense. You would know I’m ‘la dat.’ *L*

I also got Redgummed for an opinion about Genocide in Hawaii. Someone wrote that they thought that it was UNLUCKY that the people of Hawaii did not have immunity to the diseases brought by Captain Cook and his gang or something to that effect. And I just had to put my moe den 2cents in. Then they ask if I have any proof. YES, but they’re all dead. So I noted a source: THE GIFT OF CIVILIZATION: GERMS & GENOCIDE IN HAWAII, by OA Bushnell 1993. End of story. Like they were going to even read this book. The book is a tad bit bias, but what do you expect. Look at who have written the history books.

Anyway for somebody who doesn’t give a crap about reputation, I still sound like one of dose BATTROOM Girls. LOL A’ole pilikia.
