For a long time I use to mark “other” when it came to forms asking for disclosure of what race I is. You don’t have to answer but its there if you want to, and since I’m filling out the form I have no problem marking what I is. It always ask if your male or female but you don’t have to answer.

So if you mark that wrong on purpose, are you penalized? Like the mahu issue thing, or how you live your life. Like they aren’t going to look at your name for a clue. Then again there are alot of names that could be either gender. I know both sexes whose names are Dallas, Sydney and Willie. Its given names for both girls and guys.

When forms have disclosures about what race you are, what do you put? I use to always put OTHER. I loved “other” because that meant they had to figure out what other? Other da kine, yeah. Da ada kine. *L* Once upon a time the list of races were: white, black, hispanic, hispanic with anglo surname or something la dat anden other. Then they added more choices.

Asian use to be listed by itself. Now its Asian/Pacific Islander. Am I Asian? I always think stereotypically about what is “Asian.” Meaning I stay tinking slant eye. I get slant eye in da morning. *L* I always say “oriental.” My son tells me dats not politically incorrect; oriental is a vase, Asian is da people. I told my son, you like know wot I told my son? I told him “shuddup! you know wot I talking about.” Den I had to slap dat child. LOL

I use to have to think, am I Asian? Yes if thats where you anscestors came from. But for some reason I did not identify with marking “Asian.” I’m thinking they should of just used Mongoloid, Caucasoid, Negroid, mixed and/or other. Still I would be confused because Mongols I think of as Pakays of Mongolia and all I have in common with them is height, I think. I would be the one to mark “mixed and/or other. ” The ‘mixed’ part would sound like I get popolo and haole. So “other” should be by itself, huh.

I miss marking “other.” I enjoyed being “other.” Now I mark “Asian/Pacific Islander.”

YES I am a Pacific Islander, born and raised. I pau being other! *L*
