Lika’s Log

It stareted in the wee hours of the morning. At 4 am I thought I heard water dripping. Duh, I did; like outside rain coming down dripping.

Finally after 143 days of NO rain. We now have rain. It has now been raging for hours here in the Valley of the Sun. Ok raging may be exagerating, but its been a constant shower, no less. No moe sun, its been totally overcast all day. Being that this is a metropolis “paved” paradise and then some, the gutters are filling and not draining well causing some serious puddles here, there and every where.

The gym I go to had water issues. The water was turned off the plumbers were working on it. At AZ Mills mall there was certain sections with the roof leaking. Ross’s in the mall had flood issues. There are some humongus puddles here and there and every where. Too much pavement, not enough drainage. If the rain doesn’t stop there will be flash flooding…….

Well we wanted rain. And guess what, we got rain. From one extreme to another. I have a feeling it’ll rain for another day. Up north, as in north of I-40 and maybe a little south in the higher elevatiions it is snowing.

Lord knows the aina needed the moisture. But still, all in one day? People are driving like chickens without heads. It wouldn’t be so bad if they’d unstuck the cell phone outta their ears; but no they have to drive nuts in the rain with a cell phone. And they wonder why all the crashes…… Hello, can you hear me now? BAM!

With the good you gotta take the bad. Ying and yang and all that what comes around goes around. Even with all the rain we are having TODAY, its still a little too late. We are doomed for some serious drought conditions in the summer.

The weather has been awfully extreme. Either way too hot or way too cold. I think mother nature is trying to tell us something. And do people/we listen? Hardly. *L*
