So I was watching this special on MSNBC or some station like that and it was about Hoarding and OCD; as in obsessive compulsive disorder. It kinda freaked me out cause I saw myself in bits and pieces of it you know.
Ok maybe I’m pyschosomatic like that. I see it and relate there for I must be like that. I know I ain’t like that, like that….knock on wood. But worst case scenario; what if, what if? I’m not worst. Yet. LOL Hoarding is a form of mental illness. Like when you keep stuff and you don’t know why like tons of newspaper and magazines and whatever. Actually could be anything; look in peoples garages. *L*
It showed people who could not get rid of things because of sentimental value. Ok, that would be me. I know the exact panty I was using when….hehehehe no lets not go there.*L* I kinda do have a lot of panties though. I need to clean out the my drawer. Get rid & trash the veterans. So I can buy more…. hmmmm Victoria Secret here I come…. oh wot was I talking about… yeah yeah yeah hoarding.
I’m not bad bad. But I can see where it could lead to that. I have a hard time of letting go of stuff that have sentimental value. I’m the only person in the world who understand the value of some of the stuff I have. Whats even stranger is I may remember when, where, why, who I got something from decades ago BUT I can’t remember what I ate for dinner. Hellisthat, selective memory? Mental illness? Dey you go?
It was spooky where they showed people who lived in really pilau piled up trash la dat. Ok see, I ain’t even like that. I have stuff in boxes. Like that makes me betta. They showed this girl who just left everything all any kind because she has to fold her clothes exactly a certain way and she can’t do that so she just leaves it to pile up. It was scarey where they showed places they had to clean up and had gazillion roaches. It was awful nasty.
I started throwing away stuff. Cause like I have mail order catalogs you know; and I keep them cause what if I want to order something? Like when was the last time I did that though? Long long long time ago. I learned me & my sista both do da same thing. We get mail order catalogs and we fill out the order form but we never send it in. Unreal we must share the same deffective genes huh.
If you look at my sista dems house; dey get plenny stuff. Is that hoarding? It makes me wonder. If I’m the “neatest” one in the family then my family has a hoarding gene. We don’t mean to hoard, we don’t look at ourselves as hoarders we just don’t know how to throw stuff away. Then again my oldest sista and her fabric. She comes from the school of “who ever dies with the most fabric wins.” LOL Hence, clutter. I’m so working on NOT being a clutter bug. I need a book shelf, me & reading material; I swear. LOL
I read in this organizational unclutter fung shui kinda magazine that: When you buy something new; you need to throw away something also. Ok shoes, who throws away shoes when you get one new pair. I sorta started too.
I guess my parents had it right; small time us only had two pairs shoes one for school and one for church and one pair slippa. They got replaced once a year when back to school shopping. If I had more then 2 pairs of shoes, it was cause my feet neva grow or I got hand me downs.
I’m thinking because small time us hardly had anything, now us grown us get moe den everything. Over compensating for when us was dirt poor. Wotchutink? *L*
