Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day. Mahalo much and many thanks to those who have served our country in helping to make this country the great country that it is.

My Veteran story:

Just so you guys know, I’m married to a Veteran. A submariner, yeoman from the USS TANG SS 563. This submarine, a disel not to be confused with a nuclear one; served during the VietNam War and they had the youngest submarine crew that served during the VietNam era. Even their XO was only in his 30’s and the crew averaged about 20-21, with a bunch of older guys; including one who served on the USS Pueblo. (kids-go google & learn some Navy history).

Ok so fast forward to a meeting I was sitting in last week. The person who was speaking asked the question “How many of you in here are Veterans? Out of 30 people, no one said anything; I know for fact there was one. But he was talking story or whatever. So little ole’ me; thinking I had to break the tension of the silence (ok I was thinking out loud again) I spoke up and said “I sleep with one!”

*L* (Wot I do.) So everybody’s laughing. Me in da back with “da girls” and I said to dem ~ “Veteran by injection!” Was so funny. My girlfriends was trying for keep one straight face and not buss out laughing, one kept making the “zip your lips” sign at me. One of da kids (20somethings) heard me cause he was sitting right next to me; he started laughing out loud.

The guy doing the presentation started giving me stink eye, in a nice way; he knows how I am. Anyway I said “Hey I gotta represent, nobody else did.” He started laughing too.*L*

He said he’s a Vet of Iraq, Afghanistan and Korea.
