Ok so I need to learn this one song for hula class. Ok I don’t need to, I want to. Because it calls for playing ukulele so I would have to learn to play ukulele.
I am one of those creatures of Hawaii who never learned to play ukulele. Every other person had one and whoever had theres played it. Us just sing. So I never learned to play ukulele and I never owned one. Until 2 weeks ago. I went to ukes.com and I ordered one.
DUH? I was clueless. How do you teach a tone deaf person to tune a uke? My Dog Has Fleas……AND….. Ok that was last week. I’m kind of hearing it now. Plus with a little help from my friends, including da one dat went Costco & sent me one carepackage with an electronic tuner for my uke; I just might learn a song. It takes me a long time to tune the uke, but at least I have more of an idea of what I’m listening for. My dog has fleas is starting to register in my ears, sorta kinda I tink so maybe not quite but more then last week. *L*
Did you know RowRowRow your boat is just one key? Ok I know y’all are “advance” uke players so I’m sure you guys are way pass dat phase. Da song Kalena Kai get two chords & Manuela Boy tree (3) hehehehehe. I still on RowRowRow Yo’Boat. Nahnahnah….. I sound retuhded huh?
K- C & G7 Kalena Kai, switching back & forth….dats my “issue” I dorono how do da fingering thing. Oh moe worst remembering and coordinating eyes fingers and strumming. I look da book, look da hand, by da time I switch ah-yuh I too slow next chord awreddy. Too funny. Is there a good simple easy DVD how to play ukulele for the musically challenged?*L*
So I go to class and teacha ask have you guys been practicing? I’m like, I know C & C7, I’m in charge of C! So she’s like pactice C & F, & strum up down up down. Another issue, uncoordinated. Practice is gonna cure that?

Jass prass, sista. U going get it. Pretty soon yoa fingas going be moa nimble. I wen learn how foa play `ukulele small keed time. I wen tell my papa-san my fingas neva going be able foa do dem chords. But wen happen! I living proof dat u can go from gotta watch book, gotta watch fingas, tryin foa get coordinated, to change chords witout looking.
Try axe Lurkah. He tell u. My brain still stay uncoordinated, but da fingas can change chords witout looking. Mosta da time, anyway! But u know, even now, wen I learn new chord, den I jass like u. Check da book, check da fingas.
