Last week 3 major managers were let go. Before that sporadically every month it seems this year someone is let go. It has to do with the industry. It has to do with downsizing. Its a corporate thing, its all about the numbers, ain’t it? So they say.
The people that have been let go make big bucks. Managerial positions. So they cut down payroll big time. Scuttlebutt has it this week as in tomorrow, there will be more let gos.
I think in one sense I should be afraid becuase I am going to be in a world of hurt if I loose my job. But in another sense I’m confident in my skills (yes I have skills LOL) and I hope & pray they keep the worker bees. ME! Then again last hired/first fired….I’m kind of on that list. It may sound like a cliche and may sound like I’m bragging….but yes I am an asset to the company. I’m also cross trained in a lot of stuff because some people are either too lazy or too good to do minial task. Well I can cover all the minial things if need be cause I know how, don’t need to be training new peoples; ya’got me. LOL
It seems every other person at work is saying they are stressed, worried, they have headaches,migraines etc. Everyone is walking on eggshells not knowing if they will be next or what? I decided worrying is a waste of energy. I have plenny work to do and thats what I do. I think TALKING about what THEY might or might not do is a waste of energy. Shuddup & work. I think people have the attitude they are probably going to let me go so why work…. How about because they pay you to do your job? Dey neva say you pau yet. But dey stay acking like dey is, wotkine dat?
I feel bad for da guys & gals who are the only breadwinners of their ohana yeah, dey get kids to feed. Me, I get DH fo’live off of yeah, buggah going feed me; right. My kids all grown they can take care themselves. I going feel bad if dey let go of our managers. Moe worst our department got outsourced to northern CA. Its going to be an interesting week. Its been really strange since the last 3 managers got let go. Strange as in tension in da air strange.
Moe worst my coworker was walking outta da office with her small stereo and I thought OMG they let her go she’s packing up her stuff. Here she just took her stereo to another area where she was working on a project. I told her ‘dang I thought you were packing it up.’ She just laughed at me & said “I saw your eyeballs go big.” LOL
Yes I would be upset and saddend if I’m let go but the way I look at it, its not the end of the world. I’ve been unemployed before and I’ve bounced back. Slowly but I’ve bounced. Dats betta den being dead weight. I’ve been dat too. I leave things in Gods hands and figure the way things are, its the way its suppose to be. If dey close da door on me, thats cause get one ada one going open.
