I’ve always like vanity license plates. It has its advantages & disadvantages. Maybe its from driving cross country so much and I’ve seen some really creative license plates. I can’t remember them but I know they were creative because it cause me to think up some. On cross country trips its a game to try and decipher some peoples vanity plates.

plates

My first vanity plate was on our full size conversion van, way way back in the day. It had PONO on it. So den da car had MALAMA, so I always wanted the vehicles parked in order so it read Malama Pono. Tried to get Son into getting BRUH on his so with all the cars parked in da row it would say Malama Pono Bruh. But no, he wanted “Native” or something to that effect.

Making up license plates was/is a driving cross country game in our ohana. It usually starts wen we see somebody with vanity plates. Then we try to make up some of our own. I still think someone needs to have a black Scion with the front & back painted white so they can have the vanity plates MUSUBI. LOL

In Nevada I had NOMOPOI. Cruising to Reno, NV one time this SUV passed us popping horn and trowing da shaka sign out da window. Us pop horn and trow shaka sign back. We started cracking up big time wen da SUV passed us. Their plates had USPUA. Too funny.

poi

My NV Nomopoi stay on da front of my Pathfinda. Cause AZ only need da plates in da back. One lady was looking at it and she asked me “you don’t like poi?” I said “no I like poi.” She said “but it says no more poi.” I looked at her confused and it dawned on me OH, haole interepretation as why, kinda like “no mas” as if I no like any more poi. I never thought of it that way. Which goes to prove I think in pidgin yeah. LOL I explained to her “its a statement, “there isn’t any poi” but if get tell me wea cause I like some. DUH? *L*

I drive a grey or dark silva woteva Pathfinda. So I got these new plates right. My son asked “shouldn’t it end with an “R” Mom?” I was like Bruh its Pidgin. “Well only da locals will know.” Hello, dats da point! Oh, right?

poifinda

Notice my Malama Nakoa magnet, I got it from Aloha Stadium Swap meet. I’m surprised no one has stolen it yet.
