That is what I am reminded of whenever I watch a solo dancer perform. It is either, 'moving', or it is 'tired'. Of course being born and raised in Hawaii I've had my share of watching hula. Even participated as a keiki dancer, but seldom do I feel the heart of a dancer. However, there are those rare times, and wouldn't you know it happens at the most darnest places, away from the lime light and glitter of the super stage... but recently, I was honored to watch a single dancer on a humble stage dance one of the most awesome dance I've even witnessed in all my 'Hawaiian' life-style years. Mahalo nui loa for the hula-blessing you gave to me that evening at the Aloha Gathering in Vegas. I was touched and teary-eyed by the end of your performance. Eh, now you can tell people you performed VEGAS!!! Well, I for one would love to have you dance for us again! Hana hou 2008? We go!!! Well done hula is…. from the heart.
