If you stay at the Pagoda Hotel you have to go to the Pagoda Restaurant. Its a hidden oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle. Too bad its surrounded by tall resisdential looking high rises. But kudos to the establishment for keeping the place the way it is.

The Pagoda Restaurant has that great pono feeling. Fung shui-ish maybe becasue its surrounded by water and has all that koi in da water. Ain’t a thousand koi good luck or something, oh 1000 cranes huh? But ain’t koi good luck too. They’re pretty. LOL

This is a picture of a little boy and his Grandpa and the Koi keeper. It that what they’re called? Anyway we were having the Pagoda awesome breakfast buffet one morning. This Granpa was showing his grandson the garden and the man was there to feed the fish. He let the little boy throw fish food into da pond and all da fish would rush to towards the food all at the same time. It was neat to watch.

Its refreshing to know that some places from the 60’s & 70’s continue to thrive in Hawaii. Imagine back in the day, Aretha Franklin stayed at the penthouse of the Pagoda Hotel. Now its considered an out of the way kind of place. But its a place of character yeah. Kinda like the children of that era. LOL

The Golden Koi’s are pretty sparkly yellow. There are some huge fish in that pond. I was wondering maybe they were there in the 60’s. LOL From our 6th floor room, a couple of times I seen the resident mongoose. He was all sneaking around the bushes hiding out behind a shed. I didn’t get a picture of it. Bugga too fast and I was way to far anyway.

I was wanting to get an aquarium or at least A Beta. But then I feel bad and bored for the fish. Would I want to swim in a bowl, same ole same ole everyday? No. So I’m reluctant to get A fish. *L*
