Thursday night we had a big monsoon storm. Heavy duty rain for hours. We sat in the garage; watched the lighting and listened to the thunder. God took our picture a thousand times. *L* Lighting streaking across the sky is really pretty yeah.
It was about 9:30pm and my son says Mom check this out. So were watching the storm from the safety of our garage. Anden the light went out in the garage. Get the flashlight! Then we started cracking up cause it was just the automatic light attached to the garage opener that turned off automatically. We sat in the dark and let our pictures get taken. LOL DH says listen! All I could hear was a rumbling sound. Kind of like a train coming down the track but in a distance. It was just a constant rumble. DH says when people talk about a tornado sounding like a freight train passing by that’s the sound they are talking about. He said he hadn’t heard that sound in ages. It’s a common sound in Oklahoma or any tornado ally state.
The storm went on for hours. Rain. Lighting. Thunder. More rain. Less lightning. Less thunder. Still raining. That’s a monsoon in the valley.
So this morning we go to work and you know we really do carpool, HOV lane aka diamond lane. We hear on the radio about all these closings. Water. No electricity, no traffic lights. It didn’t mention the area where we work up on Central Ave. We decide to stop at Safeway/Starbucks. But oops its closed. Must be no electricity. So we go on to work ooops big ass tree across the road. Go down another road, oops more debris. We finally get to DH’s building and oops everybody is outside. It’s about 7:20am. So I drop him off. I go to my building, 1 block up.
OOPs the new light rail stop canopy thingee is in the intersection that I need to turn left at. There are work crews and TV camera crews there. I gotta go up another block then come back down. Finally I get to work and in our courtyard you see trash every where. Well actually it was insulation and someones roof in many many pieces scattered all over. No electricity. No phones. Which means, NO WORK. Its Friday, the long weekend just got longer. wooohooo

[No I didn’t take that picture. Its from da bucket. LOL]
