My Angel’s Trumpet Stay Blooming!

I love Angel’s Trumpet (Datura)!  I know they are poisonous, but they’re also so onaona [fragrant] that I rarely think of da bad stuffs about them. Besides, I get nomo plans to cook and eatum foa dinna!  When I see da blossoms, I picture angels holding them to their lips and blowing a sweet sound from heaven. (more…)

Island Girl Sock Blockers

I love knitting socks!  In the past when I’ve washed them (I like to hand-wash my knit socks), I’ve laid them out to dry on a towel.  But when Raymond’s worship socks were pau I wanted to photograph them and block them before I gave them to him.  So Nolemana helped me make some basic wire-hanger sock blockers, and I really liked the way the socks dried. Tuesday nite, I was so tired!  Had been one busy, busy day, and when my head finally wen hit da pillow I was all ready foa one good night’s sleep.  Kukui, our Australian Shepherd, who sleeps next to my side of da bed, seemed kinda restless, but finally wen settle down next to me on da floor.  Blessed silence reigned.  Oa so I thought. What Is Da Color of Pau?

Pau.  Finished. All done.  El producto final.  Eh!  Pau da sweatah!  Nolemana’s sweater is finished!  Yesterday at Hawaiian Beanz I sewed in the “Made with love by… ” label.  After that, there was nothing else I had to do but wrap it up.  I gave it to him for Father’s Day and his birthday (this coming Saturday). Da Puka Tree

So da odda day driving down da gravel road from our hale, suddenly I wen take one close look at da big Douglas fir tree dat stands down at da corna of da litto road.  Years ago, dis tree had one companion, one fir tree jass as big as him.  But when our naybahs wen build dea hale down dea, dey wen pile all da dirt from da excavation site ontop da roots of da old fir trees.  Auwe! Another WIP

I saw this scarf made up and fell in love with it, even though I haven’t done a lot of short row stuffs.  Oni easy!  Sarah at  Knot Another Hat didn’t have the colorway I wanted, though she does carry Teseo yarn.  I did find the colorway I loved at Foothills Yarn and Fiber(more…)
