Whoo hoo! Tomorrow is OFFF! Fiber! Yarn! Llamas! Sheep! Color! Friends! Fiber! Maybe even a camel! I stay going! Been waiting all year for it! I love the environment, our small county fairgrounds filled with so much eye candy I can hardly stand it. Julie and I stay going together. Let the games begin!! See you on da odda side….
Southeastern Idaho. About as different from Montana as you can get. The land is pretty flat and quite desert-y. There are a lot of craggy rocks and sagebrush and not a whole lot else. It looks pretty barren. But the sky is big, blue, and seemingly endless, uncluttered by tall buildings that block the view.
Last month I was able to get quite a deal on apricots, something like 99 cents a pound. So I decided to make apricot jam, something I haven’t done in what seems like forever. (more…)
We get some pretty incredible sunsets around here, and I keep a close eye on the makai sky when I think we’re gonna get one. So much of the time it’s cloudy and/or rainy… well, from about October through June… which makes for a lot of gray.
This August I happened to be watching at just the right time.
The sun was just starting to go down here.
I know times were different then. But from today’s standpoint it’s really hard to believe women bought into all this. Yet at the time, it was normal. Though I expect there were more than a few nay-sayers even back then. (more…)

So a few years ago, I was volunteering again at Vista House. Was working wit one haole wahine I nevah wen meet befoah. She was reeyo nice, knowledgeable, etc…(well, except foah potty mout’, which is absolutely NOT okay wen talking wit da tourists).

I have been lax in updating this road trip. Life intrudes. Stuff intrudes. Yet here I am again, just like the little engine that could. So hang on, here we go!
At the end of Part Twenty-Five, we’d just hit the motel in Blackfoot, Idaho. There weren’t a lot of people there and we thought about hitting the jacuzzi, but by now it was almost ten p.m. so we bagged it, showered, and went to bed. (more…)
