The Osbournes

This show makes me fall off my chair. Has anyone seen it? It's just so demented, it's wonderful.

It's on MTV sometime on Tuesdays (check your listings, can't remember if it's 8:30 or 9:30).

Apparently, Ozzy Osbourne's neighbors are too loud, causing Ozzy's wonderful wife, Sharon, to throw a ham (a ham, ladies and gentlemen) over their fence and into the neighbors' yard. Ozzy has certainly lost some brain cells over the years. You're almost uncomfortable, knowing you're laughing at Ozzy, rather than with him.

I really wish we were watching from the beginning. Just the one episode we caught was full of priceless moments.

Like the scene with the bubble machine: "Oh, come on, Sharon. I'm Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Fucking Darkness. No bubbles. Evil, evil, evil!"

I don't know about laughing at, rather than with, Ozzy, though. I think one of the sneaky underlying messages of the show is that we can, in part, identify with this family - a family that you'd otherwise marginalize as the most dysfunctional family on Earth.

I mean, Ozzy "Rat Biter" Osbourne, freaking out because his daughter got a tattoo? I love it. An abnormal guy, having a normal "dad" moment.

The one episode I caught was when Ozzy was ranting and raving about how his family has way too many pets - "No more animals in this house!" and I was laughing. Not because it was Ozzy saying it, but he sounded exactly like my Dad saying it.

(My God, Ozzy Osbourne and my Dad having the same thought... this is just tripping me out. Then again, if I got away with being as foulmouthed with my folks as the rest of the Osbournes, I'd probably still be grounded.)

I totally agree with all of you! The Osbournes is the funniest reality tv show out there.

I was watching Jay Leno last week and the whole Osbourne family was on there. They mentioned that they haven't decided if they will do a second season. That would be too bad considering how popular the whole family has become.

One of the funniest episodes was the one with all their pets and one of the dogs peed on the couch. Elijah Wood (yes, from Lord of the Rings) was over at their house and was helping them mop up the mess!

Ozzy ROCKS! I cry with laughter at every episode. The best was him trying to figure out the satellite TV on the first episode. Classic. I think I may have even gotten my dad to watch it...just so he can see there are other families out there who are more dysfunctional than ours!

And what is up with Ozzy's walk?? Total zombie!

I heard he had a stroke a few years ago and that's why he walks the way he does. I thought it was because of Parkinson's disease (like Michael J. Fox) but I was wrong.

I'm surprised if he had a stroke (well, not surprised at the stroke part), that he's decided to tour again. Then again, living in that household could give anyone a stroke..not to mention with neighbors singing Kumbahyah!

The first episode is classic! Jack was telling Ozzy how lame Kelly is. After Jack went on and on about Kelly, Ozzy tells him, "I love you all. I love you more then life itself, but your all f--king mad"! I loved that. I find myself quoting some of the crazy stuff that comes out of their mouths.

I guess I love watching The Osbournes because of how dysfunctional they all are and it reminds me so much of my own family. Especially the constant use of all the swaer words.

Ozzy is the best part of the show. Watching Ozzy is like watching someone who has Tourette Syndrome... you can't help but watch and listen to what comes out of their mouths. I was amazed that he's like 53 years old but he seems like he's much older then that. I know it's from all those drugs and drinking he use to do.

Well, I just watched The Osbournes for the first time, and I definitely need subtitles for Ozzy. There's something cute about how the family bonds together against the obnoxious neighbors.

Oh no. The Simpsons Sing the Blues all over again.

What disease does Ozzy have? Parkinson's?....

hmm... the Osbournes a "reality tv show?" How many of us have super-rich parents that have done more drugs than entire countries full of people and are still breathing? How many of us have record contracts and A&R deals thrown at our feet simply because of who our parents are? Dysfunctional is not the word for this family... how about "insane?" Yes sometimes humorous, but definitely insane to boot.

I don't know if there's ever been any public acknowledgement of it, but Ozzy certainly appears to be in the early stages of Parkinson's Disease... and while I have found some parts of what little bit of the show I have seen humorous, I find Kelly to be one of the biggest no-talent whiny-assed brats, ever, and Jack a no-talent that will now go on and make other people stars (a la Fred Durst). Kudos to Aimee Osbourne for not being a part of that embarassment of a "reality tv show."

Oh. You're thinking "reality TV" and not "reality TV". If it's "reality TV" you're after, PBS has been known to air these things called documentaries.
