It's so quiet here that you can hear two gnats "k.i.s.s.i.n.g." Oh, yeah, baby.

Posted by Haken at May 09, 2002 05:04 PMAt least I know why I've been quiet: last night was Big TV Night because of the "aloha" episode of ER. If there wasn't any more reason for Anthony Edwards to be any cuter, this was it. :) And you gotta admit that, even with the inconsistent script, they at least did a great job of keeping the location and Hawaii in context - starting off with the touristy venues (skydiving, Waiks) and then Pearl Harbor for the nostalgia, and finally North Shore for the final scenes. *sniff*
(And check out how they incorporated music into the show: ukulele interludes, and especially the buildup to the death scene using Iz's "Somewhere Over The Rainbow.")
And if that wasn't enough, an hour before that I was checking out last night's episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Never mind the usual grisly content or the fact that it was a prelude to next season's CSI spinoff set in Miami - I'm hopelessly hooked anyway. And yes, it does make me a freak to find both William Petersen and David Caruso attractive. Oy vey.
Aiyah, you're a David Caruso fan? Dunno, never could figure out why he is/was a sex symbol.
Back to ER. I couldn't place the location of the retreat house (the one where Greene taught his daughter how to drive), it looks familiar, and at first I thought it was someplace in Kahuku. Any ideas?
And, it's so true, be generous with your time.
I used to have a thing for David Caruso when he was on NYPD Blue, but it has considerably waned in recent years. On CSI he didn't look too drool-worthy, but at least his acting has improved somewhat; he can display equal amounts of quirkiness and compassion while remaining quite amoral, which bodes well now that he's headlining the Miami spinoff.
(William Petersen, though: How can a guy who looks like Captain Kirk and plays a relentless nerd on TV inspire so much devotion from women? And why am I not safe from the madness myself?)
As for that house, I was thinking more along the lines of Wahiawa - it's definitely the North Shore, of course, but somehow it looks a little like pineapple country to me.
Well, it's finals crunch time for me so I haven't been staying online as much as I'd like to. I decided to have a "lazy day" today where I catch up on online things, like this site for instance. :)
Vivi! Thank God you're online - any thoughts on last night's ER? :)
Ok, so I'm dredging up old posts, but I'm new!
I watched this episode of ER, and I was very very glad I had it on the TiVo, because I kept getting distracted. I love Anthony Edwards / Mark Green, and the episode before this one had me bawling the whole time. Then, this episode comes along, and I spent half my time trying to follow the story, and the other half of the time annoyed all these actors were blocking my views of home. Required rewatching. =)
Taking one of my favorite television characters, putting him in my beloved, distant home, and then the final scenes. And with all the music. More tears. *sigh*
hi i was reading your comment on william petersen, sorry but he does not look like captain kirk or should i say william shatner because william petersen is a babe and william shatner is ugly, they may have the same hair but that is all they have in common. i would like to give you a bit of advice anyone who writes a comment like that needs glasses.
Can someone clear this up for me.
Was or was not the original actor in CSI for Gil Grishom (William Shatner)??
Of course I know the current actor is William Peterson
Please send me email reply if you have a definite answer
Thanks
