Pictures needed

I put together a very small and fairly amateur site about the Hawai'i Islanders AAA baseball team a while back, but I need more images. If anyone has some old scannable photos of the team, individual players, or games at Aloha or the Termite Palace, I'd love to hear from you. The e-mail address is on the first page.

I haven't anything to contribute, but I will tell you that because the Hawai`i Islanders were mentioned here a while ago, it brings quite a few people looking for information on them.

In addition to a handful of search engine referrals, I've gotten maybe three e-mails from folks asking if I have any pictures, baseball cards, or even just a logo.

Why they don't just follow the link to Link's site, I don't know. That's usually where I send them, ultimately.

I have no clue whether any of the old photos in the S-B and Advertiser archives have been digitized, or what it might cost me to get some. Any media types have any background in that sort of data acquisition?

Someone here might know better than I, but I don't think either daily paper has gone back to digitize old hardcopy archives. If anything, after a certain point, you're looking at microfiche. For that, obviously, the archives at Hamilton Library might be one place to look. Of course, you'd have to have some dates to start with.

I too am looking for a picture or a card of
one player in 1978, Tony Castillo. Went to San Diego Padres for one year, then left baseball. I really could use a card of him, sometimes they gave away cards of players. I'll pay for it.....any takers?

Pat, there are literally hundreds of card sites on the 'net; start with Topps. I've done that, but there are very few sites with minor league cards listed.
