Vern Yip is in town!

I woke up and opened up The Honolulu Advertiser online and learn that my favorite Trading Spaces designer is here for two book signing events. Vern Yip! He of the silken pillowcase covers and linen duvets, dragonfly motif and candle-cluster meditation spaces...and I have the weekend off!

Friends who went to his "Z" appearance yesterday noted a considerable crowd and line (winding around the room, up the stairs...), but a rewardingly personable, cute, and funny Vern.

"I've never seen so many people who look like me and my family at once before," he reportedly said. "It's like coming home."

He does keep a home in Hawaii, the paper reported yesterday. There are also more weekly shows in the works. Could a Hawaii edition be far behind?

He surely is cute.

I have been trying to find Vern's e-mail address. I know it is his birthday today and just wanted to wish him a very Happy Birthday. I met Vern when he came to Calgary to do the Home and Garden Show in March. I had my picture taken with him and he autographed a picture of himself for me. Love you Vern you are the best. I'm a very devoted fan of yours.
