Tamarind Square entertainment axed?

Weekly lunchtime entertainment in downtown's Tamarind Square was, until recently, a staple of the area. In the past I've caught many an interesting show from my office windows, such as a bagpipe troupe, Jake Shimabukuro (on many, many occasions), jazz bands, high school bands, local singers, etc.

When this topic came up in conversation, one of my co-workers mentioned hearing that it was one of the programs axed by the City & County. Then the very next day a musical group performed in the Square, but it just wasn't of the same caliber. Besides, I may love bagpipes but Zamfir pan flute stuff just doesn't cut it for me.

Does anyone know what became of this program?
