My Weblog

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later, the link to my weblog is no longer available on my mainpage. This is because, as far as I know, I have the only images on the internet for Joss Whedon's upcoming Sci-Fi series, Firefly.

I guess it's a scoop and my site is going to get pounded pretty hard once word gets around. I don't want to get into some sort of legal fight with FOX (maybe they sent the stuff to me, who knows) so it's best that they not know who I am.

If you care to know, go to my site if you wanna see the images.

A Western in space? Super-cool! And judging from the preview images, it looks like it's gonna really "rock the planet."

Keeping fingers crossed for luck...

Okay, my server is taking a pretty good pounding now. Looks like I made it big time with a mention on SCIFI.COM's website with this scoop. And, so far, no threatening emails from FOX.

Ryan, being a journalist, do you have any tips as to how I can grow this little bit of success?

What kind of advice are you looking for, Peter? I'm not much of a journalist, in any case. <grin>

As long as you have a contact e-mail address available, and somehow note a willingness to field media inquiries, you're doing better than 90 percent of the websites out there.

Also, you should start a section (if you haven't already) of where your site's been mentioned. "As Seen In..." as it were.

Finally, maybe plan ahead for that inevitable 'cease and desist' e-mail, even if it never comes. Have an articulate, high-road web page (i.e. not "BOO!!! SHUT DOWN BY FOX CENSORS!!!") explanation ready in advance.

Congrats, in any case, Peter. I'm enough of a J-guy to appreciate the value of a scoop!

Congrats on the mention in the SciFi.com News Briefs, Haken!

BTW, is Firefly still slated for Sundays at 9pm Eastern /8 Central? I read in another site that the WB might even move Angel to that time slot as well. If it gets the same deal that KHON got with The X-Files, then maybe it can still go on at 9pm Hawaii Standard - Joss Whedon Night, woohoo!

I just hope Firefly's good enough to tear me away from Alias and L&O: Criminal Intent, because both of those shows have been driving me freaking bananas lately.

Tons of rumors going around as to the fate of Firefly. The latest being that it might get bumped to midseason because another series, based on "The Fast and the Furious" is being fasttracked for Sunday.

That Sunday timeslot is looking pretty hot right now. Though I don't see the sense in pitting "Angel" against "Firefly". They're both produced by FOX and are Whedon shows. Both stand to lose no matter how you look at it. It just doesn't make sense.

And, as much as I like "Angel" and "Firefly", "Alias" is going to end up on top no matter what.

BTW, in a 24 hour period, I've had over 10,000 visitors. Wow. My first taste of being with the big boys.

Woohoo! Talk about record number of visitors

More Firefly news as Fox announces new Fall schedule: It's now slated for Friday nights. Hmmm... reminds you of any other sci-fi shows out there? Hint, hint...

I guess "King of the World" Cameron got deposed by a slayer.
